The Funeral Consumers Alliance of San Antonio, Texas, Inc. (FCASATX) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational and service organization, founded in 1948. At that time, local Unitarians and Quakers felt there was a need for such an organization due to the high cost of funerals. We were originally known as the San Antonio Memorial Society. Our name was changed to reflect our goal to educate the consumer on end-of-life planning.

Today, FCASATX is completely run by volunteers. We provide information and support to help you navigate the funeral process with confidence. We encourage you to pre-plan. FCASATX is affiliated with the National Funeral Consumers Alliance of America, which was founded in 1964. Currently headquartered in Vermont, the National Alliance has just over 50 member Alliances across the United States. We have built our membership by doing presentations to any group providing them with information about the funeral industry and our organization. The FCASATX offers simple, meaningful, and affordable options to an expensive funeral. Membership is open to everyone.
